I promised so many of our listeners that the blog would continue to update Sammy the Cocker's journey during this crucial early recovery period, and thank god all signs are good. Sammy has even begun to wag his tail a bit. Considering the ordeal and abuse this dog suffered, it shows us how incredible the trusting canine spirit is. The incredible Red Bank Veterinary Hospital believes it could have been years since poor matted Sammy actually walked, so his little legs were very week, however he did stand for forty five minutes this week! His sister Addy (also rescued from the same home) is about three and doing well.
The Hospital has however requested that toys, food etc, stop being sent to Red Bank as they are overwhelmed with the amount of well wishes that have been received. They do request you support your local shelter in Sammy's name..So many shelter dogs that deserve great homes would love your consideration of adoption as well. There has been talk of one of the Vets adopting Sammy which would be fantastic. Check out Sammy's Facebook page at "Sammy the Cocker Spaniel"
The entire staff at WDHA wishes this wonderful, inspirational dog well...I know Sammy will get a home like our DHA dogs Scarlet Carr, Bailey Monaghan and sam Mulligan have...May you be spoiled forever.....We love you Sammy!
