A huge thanks goes out to all of the fine men and women who protect our furry friends and the public each and every day! I always thought it would be so rewarding to be an animal control officer. Rewarding and totally selfless. These folks must be recognized for not only their dedication, but for putting their lives at risk, and making huge personal sacrifices as well. Our "Animal Cops" protect the welfare of our furry friends, help catch abusers, and help to safely capture animals that are injured, abused or just thrown away with the daily trash. they also protect the public just as our other law enforcement agencies do. I have three personal friends that I'd like to recognize. Sunny Nowell (who taught me how to dress Pitbulls up to dispel the Pittie myths!) Ann DeSombre (who always brings St. Huberts beauties by to star in our video pieces for and brighten our days) both who you hear on DHA's Rock N' Ruff, who devote so much time, energy and resorces to our animal community, (at Randolph Animal Pound and St. Huberts ) and Capt. Rick Yocum, who has been a friend of mine for close to twenty years! Capt. is out there fighting every day for NJ animals.
I am so incredibly proud to know all three of these folks. Their sacrifices everyday blow me away. And I was so thrilled to see that National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week is now official! It is so well deserved!
Check out Sunny, Ann and Capt.....Love them!
