I'm so glad there is a month and specific day (10/26) designed to increase awareness about, educate and celebrate the Bully Breed! Since starting Rock N' Ruff just about four years ago, I have met so many incredible Bully's. Social, friendly, loyal pups who make amazing companions. I recently stopped by a Pit Bull appreciation day sponsored by my friends at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter called "Pittie Colada" and had the best time meeting, kissing and interacting with these great dogs that were up for adoption.
When I think of Bully's the first runner up in this year's WDHA Ultimate Rock Dogs contest comes to mind. Turner was an Eleventh Hour Rescue. When Russ and Jeri met him he had been in the kennel for 2 years! Mostly due to the fact that he was a Bully breed boy. They thankfully adopted him and Turner is now an ambassador for his breed! He helps children at the Denville library with reading, does Pet Therapy and helps foster dogs become social. Pit Bulls were used as babysitters back in the day. Yes, they are strong and powerful, but don't forget loving, affectionate and extremely loyal. My Adora-BULLS! I love them!
Check out some of my fave Bully's! (Including Turner...the beautiful, smiling, brindle boy you see)
