I love dogs, and I always enjoy the Westminster Dog Show. This year I chose to get more heavily involved because both mutts and rescue dogs shined in the agility trials! It was a spectacular moment. The dog show is a celebration of all dogs...being dogs. The agility trials were spectacular with Emma the Mutt rescued from NJ really inspiring me with her story "From Death Row To Westminster"....just beautiful. 225 dogs entered the agility trials and 15 including Emma made the cut...amazing. It was a great time meeting dogs and their humans, watching the best in breeds and interacting with dogs and dog lovers. I was able to meet and kiss so many canine competitors....Just wonderful.
Pier 94 was the host of the pre-show festivities and Madison Square Garden welcomed the main event. Some folks have asked me, "TC being so involved with Animal Rescue, does the fact that the competing dogs are pure breed dogs bother you"? My response...OF COURSE NOT! These dogs are wonderful, loving babies just like any other dog....why would that bother me? I LOVE dogs...plain and simple. Many I met were therapy dogs in their down time, service dogs, famiy pets and cherished companions. Same as any other dog...heck...you know me...I could celebrate dogs every day...all day.....that's just me, TC!
