The hurricane hit our Sayreville neighbors hard. Flood waters from the South and Raritan River led to an unprecedented amount of flooding and Starand Ballroom was greatly affected, compromising the electrical, sound and other internal systems. Some shows like Megadeth, and Taking Back Sunday, and Scott Weiland have been moved to other venues, but unfortunately most of the roster has been cancelled. Fans can redeem their tickets at point of purchase for a full refund- The new box office hours for refunds are Thu-Fri from 3-6p and Sat 11a-2p. If you are a season pass holder you can use your remaining pass in 2013. Sad news for one of my favorite venues. Starland was like a big club in your living room! It felt like home PLUS our favorite bands played there....In our living room! In fact DHA's first EVER holiday show and Starland's first ever show was David Lee Roth so I have a real emotional connection as the station that opened that great venue. Jon Vena and Adam Weiser who run Starland are great, longtime friends of mine and two of the most wonderful people in the music business. I have spent much time upstairs in their offices chatting about music.
On the flip side...the good news is.....THEY WILL BE BACK! They are getting things together and will return this spring with a ton of great shows.....I personally will keep you posted on all of their progress. So yes, it will be a long, cold winter without our beloved Starland....but as Jon told me...We WILL be back!! I personally can't wait....here I am hanging with Wes and Paul from Puddle of Mudd at Starland....always great times.
See you in the spring at Starland! (and tomorrow at 10....)
