Wow....The winter doldrums are officially here.....sort of..Usually the month of January is super dead on the touring schedule of rockers in our area. Well, maybe not dead, but not as vibrant as THIS January. Amazing shows are coming to a bunch of venues in our area. Are you bored? Buy a few tickets and see a few of your favorite bands!
Skynyrd hits town this week with a date in Morristown at Mayo Performing Arts Center AND NY's Beacon. They STILL put on a great show.
Soundgarden hits Hammerstein on the 22nd and 24th, and right in between, two of my favorite bands Papa Roach and Stone Sour will rock Terminal 5. NJ legends (and my pals) The Smithereens hit BB Kings on the 19th and the legendary Pat Benatar comes to Untion County at the Performing Arts Center on the 24th. Staind frontman and all around amazing vocalist Aaron Lewis comes to Red Bank's Count Basie Theater on the 25th and if you love comedy my friend Jim Breuer is at NYC's Gramercy Theater that night as well.
Now, if you are a lover of the 80's, one of my favorite singers, John Waite comes to Mayo with John Parr (remember Naughty, Naughty??!) and Tommy (867-5309) Tutone on the 26th for an 80's rock show. And the month closes out with my ladies. The incredible (and soon to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2013) HEART for two NJ dates! Bergen Pac on the 29th and a sold out Mayo show on the 31st. Heart are stupendous...you MUST catch them. Hail Heart....you will be blown away.
