My first year back at DHA I was told a new band called HALESTORM was coming in to hang. They had a kick ass chick singer, who was easy on the eyes, and a super nice hang. The boys in the band were fun, wild rocker dudes. Okay, I thought...let me hear their debut record.....

Well....needless to say, they blew my doors off. They killed it and in the almost 4 years since, I have seen them 10 times live and I am amazed at the talent, musicianship, and fan connection this monster group exhibits. Their 2nd record "Strange Case Of..." is one of 2012's best. So good in fact, that they won their first grammy! Beating out bands that they grew up idolizing- Maiden, Megadeth, Manson, Anthrax and Lamb of God. Lzzy said that when the "Best Hard Rock/Metal" winner "Love Bites and So Do I" was announced, she didn't even hear it! She also told me she took her mom out to dinner the next night and had a good cry. For this hardworking band who clocks more than 200 shows a year and ALWAYS treats their fans like family, I almost cried too...Why? sometimes we forget that immense talent, met with incredible hard work can fulfill our dreams. Thank you Halestorm for reminding us. A more deserving band, I have not met. We in NJ are so proud of you!
