3/27 - 8/21 Arts Council of the Morris Area “Rites of Spring” Exhibit

The Arts Council of the Morris Area is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet, The Rites of Spring. The exhibit will feature art that reflects Stravinsky’s themes of rebirth and renewal while breaking through conventional style. There will be an opening reception on Wednesday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m., and the exhibit will continue through August 21. 6/10 - 7/7 Dress for Success Morris County

Dress for Success Morris County (www.dressforsuccess.org/morriscounty) held its 7th Annual Dress for Success Morris County Gala, "Transforming Lives Gala," on April 25th at the Westin Governor Morris, in Morristown, NJ, celebrating its 15th Anniversary.   Nearly 380 people attended the event.  It was a special evening with a cocktail hour, three-course dinner, silent auction, live auction and more.  All proceeds from the event will assist Dress for Success Morris County in its continued mission of providing disadvantaged women with the tools, both in obtaining professional attire and important career support, to get back into the workforce and on to career success.

6/18 Parker Firehouse Blood Drive

On June 18th the Parker Firehouse at 451 Boundbrook Road in Middlesex will be having a blood drive.  Come on out from 3pm-8pm and help out those in need by donating blood for a good cause!

6/21 Coming Home Rescue 4th Annual Pub Crawl to benefit homeless dogs

On Friday June 21st come out to the 4th annual Coming Home Rescue Pub Crawl to benefit homeless dogs.  The crawl begins at 7 PM at Tavern on the Rocks located at 9 Wall Street in Rockaway, and continues on through Shenanigans, the Mill Tavern, Exchange, and ends at Adam’s Beer Garden.  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, those who order in advance will receive a free t-shirt! There will be drink specials, giveaways, 50/50 and much more! All proceeds from the event will go to Coming Home Rescue and homeless animals, for more information call 1-888-405-7221 or email at info@cominghomerescue.org.

6/22 Bikers for Brooke Motorcycle Run

On June 22nd, there will be a Bikers for Brooke Motorcycle Run at Our Lady of Peace Church. Registration is on site from 10 – 11:30am. The scenic, police escorted ride begins at noon and finishes at Mt. Carmel Hall. Here there will be a family friendly BBQ, raffle, and live music from 2 – 7pm. The event costs $35 per person, and $10 for children under 11 years. Proceeds are going to Four-year old Brooke Healey, daughter of Steve and Stefani, who was diagnosed in January with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. This is an inoperable tumor located in the Pons sack (the top of the brain stem). It’s very aggressive and quickly affects a child's motor skills, as the Pons is responsible for all vital functions. Brooke made it through an extremely risky biopsy and radiation therapy, and is being treated with steroids that come with a host of side effects. The money raised will be used for bills not covered by insurance and a multitude of unexpected and mounting expenses associated with Brooke’s treatment. 6/24 Celebrate the Children School Recycling Fund Raiser

On June 24th beginning at 9AM through 10AM and then again at 1PM through 3PM, Celebrate the Children School will be collecting electronics for a recycling fundraiser.  Having partnered with Green Vision they will be collecting ‘Anything with a Plug,’ with the exception of TV’s over 36” and items with Freon.  The event will take place at Celebrate the Children School located on 345 South Main Street in Wharton.  There will be a cash only donation of $10 per car load.  Celebrate the Children and Green Vision hope the fundraiser will allow students and adults with developmental disabilities to learn real life work situations and gain the knowledge on how to work with electronics.  If you would like more information you can visit www.ctcschool.org

7/2 Joey Bella Memorial Fund Tricky Tray

On July 2nd, the Joey Bella Memorial Fund is hosting a Tricky Tray under the tent at Gardner Field. For only $10 per person, everyone will receive a sheet of tickets for a chance to win various exciting prizes. Refreshments will be provided. Doors open at 6:00pm, and calling begins at 8:00pm. 7/3 Joey Bella Memorial Fund Band Beer & BBQ

On July 3rd, the Joey Bella Memorial Fund is hosting a Band Beer & BBQ under the tent at Gardner Field. Dance to the music of America’s #1 show band, The Infernos! Sample an assortment of beers from local microbrewers and enjoy a great barbeque dinner from the American BBQ Company. Tickets are $50, and all proceeds from these events will be used to provide financial assistance to residents of Denville and contiguous communities who are affected by catastrophic illness. 8/10 Operation Chillout

On August 10th ‘Operation Chillout’ will begin!  This concert will be held at Vasa Park located at 1 Vasa Drive in Hackettstown.  The proceeds from this festival will go to assist homeless veterans.  With music ranging from Rock, Blues, Country, Celtic and so much more, there is music for all tastes.  There will also be food and drink available along with a vintage car/bike show that will include trophies for participants!  Tickets are just $30 at the door and $20 in advance.  For more information or to purchase tickets you can email tony@operationchillout.org

10/5 Autism Speaks’ 2nd Annual Greater Morris Walk

Shine a light in autism by raising awareness and being part of Autism Speaks’ 2nd Annual Greater Morris Walk on Saturday, October 5th at Central Park in Morris Plains. Last year, the Autism Speaks Walks raised 35 million dollars with New Jersey raising 1.9 million dollars.  In addition, it is a time where loved ones, parents, advocates and teachers come together in a non-judgmental atmosphere to support the cause and one another. 10/5 Bottle Hill Day

It can be hard to believe but New Jersey at one point was a part of The Frontier.  The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts is looking to help transport you with the help of the New Jersey Frontier Guard back to the time of the French and Indian Wars.  Members of the New Jersey Frontier Guard will recreate and demonstrate crafts, skills, and military activities of the daily life in New Jersey in the mid-eighteenth century.  For more information you can visit the museum’s website, www.metc.org or call 973-377-2982.
