Dead Fish Handshake came onto the blog for the first time on a cold winter day and brought a lot of much needed light and beautiful tunes to the interview/performance session. I was taken back as I sat there and watched the band perform at their ability to enable me to forget everything I had going on in my personal brain, and just sail away to where the music took me. That's a unique gift, and I like to call it music magic. Like a movie that leaves you speechless, Dead Fish Handshake left me speechless and wanting more....
Needless to say when Rob asked if they could come back onto the blog with their new album I said ABSOLUTELY!!! After meeting the band for the first time in the winter we all became a part of one anothers' lives and I knew about the making of the "The Sixes" very well. In fact, I even stopped by at one point to check in on the boys at the beautiful Architekt Studios in Butler!! They were hard at work and absorbed into their CD and it was amazing. Clint Lowery from Sevendust produced the album, and its a pure work of art.
When I got my copy of "The Sixes" in the mail I couldnt wait to go old school and listen to it in my car while driving.....Nothing beats good tunes and a good drive to me. "The Sixes" stayed in my CD player for months, in fact it's still there. From start to finish its a masterpiece, and I'm in love with the finished product.
This band is beyond music to the ears raw and under the skin gripping acoustically, but I HIGHLY suggest you hear them and see them live asap! They will be playing our WDHA Low Dough Show this Friday night 9/28 at the Starland Ballroom with Saving Abel as well as The Stanhope house November 13th with Hurt and Smile Empty Soul....All details can be found at www.deadfishhandshake.com or the lovely book of face!
