I have been hearing about the band Machine Elves for quite some time now, and was just dying to see for myself what the hype was!! They came onto my blog last week and we had such a great time. I'd like to say we come from the same "breed", and that being a very quirky one! As I say in the interview below, I speak the same language as the band Machine Elves, we are unique peeps!
After the band came onto my show, I was reading their bio online, and I couldn't agree more with what was written. It's really difficult to describe the band into one genre which many bands can fall into, but when asked, "party rock the way it should be" has been quoted :)
Lead singer Joey Calveri brings a theatrical energy into their performances with a background in acting/singing including being featured in Queen's "We will Rock you" and currently a full time cast member of "Rock of Ages" (he plays Stacee Jax). As soon as Joey started singing for our acoustic performance my coworker and I looked at eachother and stated "oh my god, this guy has chops!" He has a huge personality in his voice and presence, and it's addictive and welcomed!
The entire band was a pleasure at WDHA, and extremely talented musicians. I could tell by talking and listening to them, that they are amazing souls and beyond passionate about the band as a whole.
Make sure you check out the track "Stripper" below as an acoustic performance, but also catch a live gig when you can! They really really really go all out for each show with guest vocalists, tons of energy, even dancers! Also, give a listen to their album "Fancy Suits and Cigarettes" on amazon and Itunes!!!
Check them out on www.facebook.com/MachineElvesMusic or if you're in the area they are performing St Patty's day at St. Vitus in NY. Don't be surprised if you see them at other local shows in the audience, they are firm believers in supporting the local scene, and I'm a firm believer in Machine Elves. Adore this band!
