The Black Keys are getting ready to start work on their next album but have taken a little time out to work with Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA on a song for his new film.
The duo and RZA joined forces for "The Baddest Man Alive," which appears on the just-released soundtrack for "The Man With the Iron Fists," a knug fu movie written, directed and co-starring the rapper.
It's not the first time they've collaborated; The Keys and RZA appear together on the 2009 all-star album "Blackroc," and RZA tells us he has great admiration for Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney:
"Dan and Pat are just two cool guys, man, from Ohio. We actually wrote the song and recorded it before I started filming, and when the film was done, as we was looking for songs for certain scenes, this song came across our radar, and we contacted Dan and Pat to see if they could give me a stronger mix for the film and they found the time to do it and, bong bong, it's in the movie and on the soundtrack."
The trio also shot a video for the song, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, that features everybody fighting over a fortune cookie and trying out a few of their own martial arts moves before RZA slaps Auerbach in the face with a dead fish.
"The Man With The Iron Fists" comes out in theaters on November 2.
