For those who might’ve been wondering if Corey Taylor was stretching himself too thin with an abundance of projects, it looks like the singer will have one less thing to worry about for a while.
Taylor announced yesterday during an interview with Artisan News Service that Slipknot will be going on hiatus after a few US concert dates in 2013.
Meanwhile singer’s side-project, Stone Sour, is going full-force, having released the first part of their double LP House of Gold & Bones on Tuesday (October 23rd), with Part II due out in spring/summer 2013.
In addition to the albums, Taylor is currently in the process of creating a House of Gold & Bones four-issue comic book series in partnership with Dark Horse Comics, and has even mentioned the possibility of turning the themes from the album and comics into two feature films.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, Stone Sour is also embarking on a world tour beginning this Sunday (October 28th) in Des Moines, IA and wrapping up at Australia’s Soundwave Festival March 1st – 4th.
Though a Slipknot hiatus certainly doesn’t come as good news, diehard fans still will be able to catch the metal rockers at the 2013 Download Festival in the UK on June 14th.
