Happy Birthday Scott Weiland!
By: Mike Bober
10/26/2012

Born October 27th, 1967, the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland turns 45 today!

Weiland and the rest of the Stone Temple Pilots burst onto the rock and grunge scene with their 1992 release Core and made themselves comfortable, releasing five more albums through the 90’s and into 2010.

But Weiland’s talent isn’t just reflected in his time with STP.  Arguably his greatest work came in 2003 when he joined forces with ex-Guns N’ Roses bandmates Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Wasted Youth’s Dave Kushner.

The five became known as Velvet Revolver and it didn’t take long for them to make their name known.

In 2004 the group released the album Contraband which shot up the Billboard charts to #1 and produced the hit singles “Slither” and “Fall to Pieces”.

Weiland also did some work on his own, releasing the solo albums 12 Bar Blues in 1998 and Happy in Galoshes in 2008 which proved to be Weiland’s attempts at experimenting with his sound.

He even tried his hand at Christmas music, releasing The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in 2011.

Throughout his career the troubled frontman has battled addictions, but Weiland always manages to make a comeback, and remains to be one of the greatest voices of Rock and Roll ever.

Happy Birthday Scott Weiland!
