As we start to head towards the New Year, announcements from bands about their 2013 projects have been plentiful.
However, a recent addition to the list is one that many may not have expected.
Melodicrock reports rumors that a new Van Halen album may drop in the first quarter of next year, before the group kicks off the second leg of their tour.
Supposedly, while the group was recording their 2012 album A Different Kind of Truth, they came up with enough new material to put together a second release!
Van Halen has yet to confirm or deny these facts.
The band canceled their Japan concert dates set for this month when guitarist Eddie Van Halen had to undergo emergency after a serious Diverticulitis flare up.
Eddie recently reported good news on his recovery though, posting a message on the Van Halen website that reads:
“Hey guys, Eddie here. Thank you for the overwhelming support and all of your cool comments! Hanging out, taking it easy and feeling better every day. Can’t wait to see you all in 2013! -Eddie”
So, although they can only be confirmed as rumors for now, the excitement is building as we all hope for some more new Van Halen music next year!
