By: Gary Graff
11/30/2012

U2
, Foo Fighters, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay are among the highest paid musicians on the latest list compiled by Forbes magazine.

U2 ranked No. 4 overall with a take of $78 million, while Foo Fighters rolled in at No. 14 with $29 million. The Chili Peppers tallied $24 million, good for No. 19 on the list, while Coldplay's $22 million put the British band at No. 21.

Rap impresario Dr. Dre led all musicians with $110 million, while classic rockers such as Roger Waters ($88 million), Elton John ($80 million), Bon Jovi ($60 million) and Paul McCartney ($57 million) dominated the Top 10. For the entire list, click here.

Forbes tallied all of the musicians' data between May 2011 and May 2012, including physical and download sales, concert tickets, merchandise, licensing and endorsements, then subtracting management and agent commissions, legal fees and taxes.
