Metallica Introduce Special "Enter Sandman" Shirts for Charity
By: Mike Bober
12/3/2012

Metallica continue to set the standard for artists everywhere on how to show their fans appreciation.

On October 17th, 2009, a Virginia Tech University student, Morgan Dana Harrington, attended a Metallica show at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. After the leaving the arena, she was not allowed back in and had last been seen hitchhiking that night until her body was found on January 26th, 2010.

In response to the tragic event, Metallica teamed up with VTU to create special “Enter Sandman” shirts for the Hookies’ football season, with all proceeds going to the Morgan Harrington Scholarship fund, NBC29 reports. Since going on sale, the shirts have raised over $17,000.

The shirts, which can be purchased here, are retailing at an affordable $19.99 for a short sleeve and $24.99 for a long sleeve.

It’s nice to see a band that’s been around as long as Metallica continuing to give back to their fans in every way that they can.
