Ozzy Spends Birthday Recording Vocals For New Sabbath Album
By: Annie Scaramuzzino
12/5/2012

The average individual may celebrate their birthday by going out to dinner and blowing out a few candles surrounded by friends and family.

Ozzy Osbourne, however, is no average individual.

The shock rocker spent his 64th birthday on Monday, December 3rd, in a California studio working on the latest Black Sabbath record, which is due out in April 2013.

Ozzy updated his official Facebook page with a photo of himself in front of a microphone and the caption, “Spending my birthday tracking vocals on the new Black Sabbath album.”

The album, which is still untitled, is being produced by the famed Rick Rubin and will feature all of the original Sabbath members sans drummer Bill Ward; he has since been replaced with Ozzy’s solo drummer, Tommy Clufetos. It will be the bands’ first with Ozzy since 1978’s Never Say Die!

Sabbath is set to follow the album’s release with a tour, beginning in New Zealand and followed by several concerts in Australia. The UK rockers are also scheduled to play at Ozzfest Japan on May 12th.

For more Sabbath studio updates, head to their official website, and leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
