Rock Artists Dominate the List of 2013 Grammy Nominees
By: Annie Scaramuzzino
12/6/2012

After years of the Grammys being dominated by pop, rap and country acts, it looks like Rock and Roll is starting to take control once again.

Last night (December 5th), a partial list of nominees for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards was presented during a televised event that took place in Nashville, TN.

Blues/rock duo The Black Keys collected noms for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for 2011’s El Camino, and Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance for their single, “Lonely Boy”. Guitarist and singer Dan Auerbach was also nominated for Producer of the Year.

Detroit rocker Jack White received a few nods himself for his debut solo album Blunderbuss, with a nomination for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, as well as Best Rock Song for “Freedom at 21”.

Additionally, Bruce Springsteen saw nominations for his latest album Wrecking Ball in the categories of Best Rock Album and “We Take Care of Our Own” scored for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
