U2 manager Paul McGuinness may have recently made a big reveal regarding the band’s 2013 plans.
During an interview with The Independent, McGuinness stated that 2012 was a very busy year for the band, and that they are in a constant state of activity, so fans should “certainly expect a new record.”
The potential LP would be the U2’s first since 2009’s No Line on the Horizon and their 13th studio album overall.
No word on when the album would be released, or if any writing or production has begun, but a new record would almost definitely warrant a supporting tour, giving fans of the band two things to cheer about.
Last month, the band released a photobook entitled “From the Ground Up,” which chronicles their U2360° Tour (2009-2011). The book features four exclusive lithographs of the band, bookmarks, and a limited edition, 15-track live album, along with four bonus downloads, all hand-picked by The Edge.
