Looks like 2013 is going to be a good year for rock and country fans!
Steven Tyler and American Idol contestant turned country star Carrie Underwood have combined their vocal talents for the latest Aerosmith single entitled “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”.
The powerful country-inspired ballad, which hit the airwaves on January 21, was a surprisingly natural fit for Underwood.
In a recent interview Tyler told Rolling Stone, “I sang it a little country & western… and all along we thought, ‘Should we get someone in?’… It was last-minute. [Carrie] was in town doing something. I called her up and she said, ‘I’m leaving tomorrow.’ And I said, 'Can you come over tonight?' I called Joe [Perry] up, and the rest is history. She just did it. It really does work.”
The chemistry between Tyler and Underwood isn't beginner's luck; the two performed her hit “Undo It” and Aerosmith’s classic “Walk This Way” at the Academy of Country Awards in 2011, and teamed up for the CMT special Crossroads in 2012.
Last year was a busy one for Aerosmith, who released their 15th studio album “MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION!” and traveled across North America on their Global Warming Tour. No telling what's next for the group, but it certainly seems as though these Boston rockers have caught their second (or third) wind.
