They save Revenge is a dish best served cold. ‘It’s So Easy’ to do to others as they have done to you. For ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, he decided to take the high road to say goodbye to bad ‘Yesterdays.’
Everyone has heard all the GNR talk for decades; the finger-pointing, the bad-mouthing, the negative vibes. With his new band, appropriately called Adler, who recently released their debut album Back From The Dead, the drummer is taking a more positive approach.
The sweetest satisfaction for Adler has been the response his audience has given to his new band. The calls for GNR classics to be played are fading and the new tunes are giving out good vibrations.
Adler has made a point to turn his life around, both personally and professionally. He told Rolling Stone that he’s been sober since 2008, and he’s started working out with his guitarist every day. “He helped me lose 25 pounds,” Adler said.
The sun shines a little brighter these days for Adler, a man who has made peace with the demons of his past. He has left the baggage of GNR and his baggage around his midsection behind and looks forward to better future.
“I used to wake up every morning and say, ‘Oh, God.’ Now I wake up in the morning and look forward to life.” Adler told Rolling Stone.
Some music fans may be thinking ‘Just Don’t Ask’ for any GNR. According to ClassicRockMagazine.com, Adler accepts GNR will always be a part of his life. “I’m proud of those songs… We’ll always play a couple because Guns was a chapter of my life.”
Here’s to the next chapter!
