Soundgarden to Film LA Concert for "Live From the Artist's Den" Episode
By: Gary Graff
2/7/2013

Soundgarden
will be taking its show to the small screen soon.

The group will wrap its three-night stand at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles by filming the February 17 show for the TV series "Live From the Artist's Den." It's not known when the episode will air, but the program is holding a contest for airfare and tickets to the show at www.facebook.com/artistsden.

The show will be just one more maneuver since Soundgarden reunited in 2010, following the best-of collection "Telephantasm: A Retrospective," Soundgarden's first-ever live album, "Live on I-5," and last year's "King Animal," the group's first new studio album in 16 years.

Frontman Chris Cornell tells us that it feels like Soundgarden is completely back on track -- and, in some ways, like it never stopped:

"At first we decided, 'Let's start doing things and we'll sort of take our time figuring out the breadth of what it is that we want to do. And then it didn't really take that long for it to start including all the normal things that a band does. I'm not sure I had specific expectations at the start, but there isn't anything that we left out that I wish we would be doing. We're kind of doing everything, and it's all been really great, so I'm very happy with it."

The February 17 show is Soundgarden's last announced date, though more touring is expected this year. Cornell is also planning to tour on his own, with dates to be unveiled soon.
