The Foo Fighters Head Into the Studio
By: Zooby Qizilbash
2/22/2013

These days, Dave Grohl seems to be everywhere. From promoting his new movie Sound City to guest hosting on the late-night talk show Chelsea Lately, to playing on the upcoming Queens of the Stone Age album, the man has kept busy.  Not to mention the Nirvana reunion at the infamous 12-12-12 concert where Grohl returned to the drums and Paul McCartney took the place of Kurt Cobain!

However, after all of the recent excitement in Grohl’s solo career, the Rock and Roll legend is ready to make his return to Los Angeles to reunite in the studio with the Foo Fighters.

After making an appearance at the Brit Awards on Wednesday (2/20) and speaking with host James Corden during the ceremony, Grohl was vague, but still gave some details about the band’s upcoming album, NME reports.

“I return to Los Angeles [on Thursday] to start work on a Foo Fighters record,” Grohl said. In regards to when fans can expect the new album to be released, Grohl would only say “eventually.”  Here’s hoping that is sooner rather than later!

While Grohl may not have shared plans for a release date, he did share important information in regards to the new album:

“We have a plan, we know exactly what’s coming next and I have the music for the next record,” Grohl said.

Fans may be disappointed that they can’t circle a date on the calendar in regards to when they can blast some new Foo Fighters tunes in their car.  However, the notion that Dave Grohl and the guys have specific plans and a direction for the new album is great to hear.

The band’s upcoming release will mark their first since 2011’s Wasting Light and will hopefully spark a subsequent tour.

For more on this story, head to NME.com and check out the band’s official website for constant updates on the Foo Fighters’ latest news!
