When it comes to rock stars, one of the most talkative guys has to be none other than Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth; a trait that gets him in trouble from time to time.
As previously reported, DLR recently appeared on a nationally syndicated radio show and said Van Halen will play “probably 50, 60 shows,” on a European tour this year in support of their 2012 album A Different Kind of Truth.
Now, Van Halen manager Irving Azoff, has shot down this rumor.
“Nothing’s been discussed yet,” Azoff told Rolling Stone. “Why would he say this? Hey, Dave’s a talkative guy. Why don’t you call and ask him?”
In regards to a big tour in 2013, Azoff stated, “not unless something special comes up. It certainly won’t be a tour of Europe.”
If you head over to Van Halen’s official website, you will see at least one big event for the band is confirmed. On April 20th-21st, Van Halen and Billy Joel will be the headliners of a two super concerts in Australia. If you’ve got the itch to get away and head down under, head over to StoneMusicFest.com for more info!
Other tour appearances include three shows in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, in June and a headlining show at the Rock USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin July.
