Queens of the Stone Age have obviously enjoyed using the internet to post cryptic clues about their upcoming album, and now, they’ve taken their teasers into the audio realm.
The band recently updated their official website to play background music that’s most likely from their new LP. Antiquiet speculates that the album will be entitled “…Like Clockwork,” based on clues QOTSA have sent to websites such Kerrang! and NME.
So far, it’s been confirmed that Dave Grohl will provide the drum tracks for the record, and Elton John, as well as Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor will also be featured.
Grohl, Reznor, and QOTSA lead singer Josh Homme also recently worked together on the Sound City: Real to Reel soundtrack, combining their talents for the song “Mantra.”
The new Queens of the Stone Age album is set for release in June, and marks the band’s first full-length effort since 2007’s Era Vulgaris.
