It didn’t take long for Sevendust to find a replacement for guitarist Clint Lowery for the first leg of their US tour. The guys have chosen Troy McLawhorn of Evanescence to fill in while Lowery’s on a temporary leave.
The rocker is taking a break from the road in order to spend time with wife Tara as they await the birth of their second child.
On Thursday (March 27) Lowery took to Twitter to wish McLawhorn luck on tour:
“Wishing my boy @Troy__McLawhorn whos filling in for me and @Sevendust brothers a good show tonight. Tear it up!!! Love y'all!”
McLawhorn is no stranger to Sevendust, though. He appeared on the band’s 1999 album Home and also played guitar alongside Lowery in Dark New Day, undoubtedly helping him land the gig.
With Evanescence currently on hiatus, McLawhorn joined the band for their tour with Coal Chamber and Lacuna Coil and will continue until Lowery’s return.
Sevendust are currently touring in support of their ninth studio album, Black Out The Sun, released on March 26.
Check out the video for the album’s lead single “Decay” below and head to Sevendust’s official website for more tour info.
