For the first time in 44 years, ZZ Top frontman, Billy Gibbons, played with his band, Moving Sidewalks, on Saturday, March 30, at B.B. King’s Blues Club and Grill in New York.
Moving Sidewalks, which was Gibbons’ band prior to his ZZ Top days, played an 80 minute set to a sold out crowd in promotion of their recent compilation album, The Complete Collection.
Moving Sidewalks was formed in Houston in the mid-60s and released only one studio album, Flash, in 1968, but opened for artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and a slew of others.
Those who were unable to attend the show are able to get an idea as to what the night was through a series of videos, courtesy of concert attendee, “Tunefestvideo.” Also, there is another opportunity to see Moving Sidewalks in action: they perform at the Austin Psych Fest on April 28 with Roky Erickson.
