John Fogerty’s latest effort, Wrote a Song for Everyone, is due out on May 28, and much like the title suggests, the album will indeed have something for music fans of all types.
Taking on the task of reimagining some of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s hit songs with a group of Rock’s most famous artists, the album will feature the likes of Kid Rock, Bob Seger, My Morning Jacket, and the Foo Fighters.
Now, the Foo/Fogerty version of the 1969 CCR classic, “Fortunate Son” has been previewed in a special sneak peak video on Rolling Stone, which features footage of the guys rocking in the studio and on stage, as well as a clip of Q&A session where Fogerty says of the recording process, “It was palpable, the air. You could tell a band was in there. It was a unique group of people.”
John Fogerty recently appeared in Dave Grohl’s acclaimed documentary, Sound City, and was also a member of his supergroup, the Sound City Players, which performed at festivals such as South by Southwest and Sundance this year. The two rockers also took the stage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last month to pay tribute to Rush.
Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters are beginning work on their eighth studio album; the follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light.
