This fall, Stone Temple Pilots will take on Japan when they headline the 8th annual Loud Park Festival.
According to hennemusic, STP, with their new lead singer, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, will perform at the event on October 19.
On the band’s website, they call Loud Park the “biggest and only metal festival in Japan,” adding that this will be the group’s first appearance in Japan in twenty years.
Loud Park 2013 will feature 24 different bands over the course of two days, including King Diamond, Stratovarius, Europe and more.
STP has been busy over the past few months, working on new material for an upcoming album and making appearances with their new frontman. Before Loud Park, the guys are slated to perform at Rockwave Fest in Fort Meyers, Florida on September 21, alongside Jane’s Addiction, Filter, Anberlin and more.
The group is also currently embroiled in a series of lawsuits with the band’s former lead vocalist, Scott Weiland. Weiland is touring with his band, the Wildabouts, performing songs from STP’s earliest albums, Core and Purple, for the fittingly-named Purple at the Core Tour.
Ticket info for Loud Park 2013 will be available soon and tickets for Rockwave Fest go on sale on July 19. Get more details on Loud Park here or head over Stone Temple Pilots’ official page for more upcoming tour dates.
