Halestorm has a big weekend ahead of it.
The Grammy Award-winning group will achieve a goal of playing in all 50 U.S. states when it performs Friday, August 26, at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer and on Sunday, August 28, in Honolulu.
Frontwoman Lzzy Hale tells us those aren't easy gigs to do, but she and her bandmates think they're worthwhile:
“We kinda had to be creative because they came knocking a little while ago, and we were, 'OK, we have to do this. We have to go.' So we figured it out...It's a little tough to get to because you're booking yourself in advance, so you're trying to schedule these tours to kind of move around to wherever you need to go. And between scheduling and promoters and different areas of touring, it's a little hectic to try to loop around to any place -- especially Alaska and Hawaii, which are way out of the way of everything. It took us a little while to logistically make that happen; now we end up with -- which actually ends up in our favor -- we have a couple days off between all of that, so we'll actually get to see a little bit of Alaska and a little bit of Hawaii and enjoy it. It's not just a get-in, get-out for the show."
Halestorm has U.S. dates booked through mid-October before kicking off a European run with Alter Bridge on October 16 in England. The group has also scheduled a couple of U.S. shows for late November and is expected to be announcing more soon.
