Those who will be tuning into this year’s World Series coverage on Fox Sports may hear something a little different than “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”
Billboard reports that Pearl Jam has signed a deal with the network for the use of 48 of their songs, 12 of which are from their forthcoming LP, Lightning Bolt.
The songs, which also include hits such as “Even Flow,” “Better Man” and “Corduroy,” will air from October 23 – 31, and appear in promos, commercial bumpers, montages, music beds and more. The band will also be featured throughout November on all Fox Sports properties as Artist of the Month.
Still not enough Pearl Jam on your TV? Well, worry not, because the band is also set to have an entire week dedicated to them on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon from October 21 – 25. Billboard reports that the shows on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will showcase Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold and country artist Dierks Bentley with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, respectively, as they perform some of the grunge-rock band’s biggest songs.
Then, on Thursday and Friday, Pearl Jam themselves will hit the Late Night stage to premiere music from Lightning Bolt, which is due out tomorrow (October 15).
The band kicked off their US tour dates in support of their 10th studio album on Friday (October 11) with a show in Pittsburgh, PA. See their entire list of upcoming shows at PearlJam.com/tour.
