As we reported earlier this week, former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward recently had to undergo a surgery for perforated diverticulitis.
Now, one of Ward’s former bandmates has reached out to wish him well.
Guitarist Tony Iommi took to Twitter on October 15 to write, “Dear Bill, Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. Hope you make a speedy recovery. Best wishes, Tony.”
While there seemed to be some tension among the members of Black Sabbath after Ward dropped out of the group’s reunion projects due to an unsatisfactory contract, it’s good to see that the bandmates still have each other’s backs.
The 65-year-old rocker did have to postpone a gallery reception for his new art exhibition, Absence of Corners, which was set for October 26 at the Annapolis Collection Gallery in Maryland, however, Ward’s official website states that the surgery was successful, and he is now recovering.
More information on Bill Ward’s exhibit and a possible rescheduled reception date can be found at BillWardDrumArt.com.
Meanwhile, Black Sabbath is currently on tour in South America in support of their latest studio album 13.
