Considering all of the name calling and accusations that have gone back and forth between the original members of KISS the past couple of months, last night’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY went off without a hitch. Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss took to the stage and thanked their fans for their support over the course of their 40 year existence and also thanked various record company executives and representatives that helped put them on the map. Of course, the night couldn’t end without a little gab at the powers-that-be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Via transcripts from RollingStone.com, Stanley took to the podium and touched on how KISS was inducted into the Rock Hall via fan vote: “Here we are tonight, basically inducted for the same things that we were kept out for. The people, I believe we’re speaking to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and what they’re saying is, ‘We want more.’ They deserve more. They want to be a part of the induction. They want to be a part of the nomination. They don’t want to be spoon-fed by a handful of people. Choices. The people pay for tickets. The people buy albums. The people who nominate do not. Let’s not forget that these are the people that make it all possible.”Tom Morello, who inducted KISS into the Rock Hall, also touched on the fan vote stating, "Tonight, we honor the fifth memeber of the band: the Kiss Army. This night proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the bullies and critics were mistaken. Tonight this is the 'Rock and Roll all night, and Party Every Day' Hall of Fame."KISS received 17.22% of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominee fan poll at the Rock Hall's official website, followed by Nirvana (15.69%) and Deep Purple (11.93%).
