UPDATED [4/28/2014 4:55pm EST]: "Redeemer of Souls" will be available for download tomorrow (April 29) at iTunes. After teasing its reveal on Sunday (April 27), Judas Priest began streaming “Redeemer of Souls” on their official YouTube channel today (April 28), which will serve as the title track for the band’s new album that will come out July 15th. Embedded below, “Redeemer of Souls” is the first piece of new music heard from the legendary metal band since 2008’s Nostradamus. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about Priest’s new album ever since frontman Rob Halford said in an interview with Artisan News Service about a month ago that the band had wrapped recording. While a new album for most bands means a new tour, nothing official has been announced by Priest, however, fans should expect potential upcoming tour dates to be a bit more spaced out than they’re used to. Halford said in an interview with WVOX.com’s Metal Mayhem that instead of a marathon-style world tour where the band would go from continent to continent with few breaks, Priest would, “…do a European tour for about a month or two months and then instead of jumping on a plane and going straight to New York to start an American tour, we're just going to pull back and put a bit of space to recharge our batteries.” If resting up between tour legs means Judas Priest will continue to perform live, I think most fans won’t mind the wait.
