After being stolen from his tour bus in March, Zakk Wylde’s custom Gibson Pelham Blue Bullseye guitar has been located at a Chicago pawn shop. The guitar was first reported missing while Wylde was on tour in Chicago during the Experience Hendrix Tour, and according to The Chicago Tribune, the guitar made its way to the Royal Pawn Shop (which was featured on truTV’s “Hardcore Pawn: Chicago) ten days later, where the shop’s employee handling the transaction paid $50 for the guitar. The guitar’s actual value? $10,000! After the guitar was initially pawned, it had to sit in storage for 30 days per a Chicago ordinance, but the store’s owners thought the guitar could be worth a lot more, so they took it to a local music store and had their employees take a look at it. These employees obviously had a clue (or at least half of one) and were easily able to identify the guitar as Wylde’s. The best part of this whole story is that not only was the lowlife that stole the guitar in the first place clueless to its value, but they had to provide their address and other contact info to pawn Wylde’s guitar. Whether or not they used their actual personal info has yet to be determined, but here’s hoping they did, because I can’t wait to see that idiot’s mugshot!
