There's a full spate of Linkin Park news today, so let's get to it... * The group's new album "The Hunting Party" debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 on Wednesday (June 25) with first-week sales of 110,000 copies, finishing behind new albums by Lana Del Rey and Sam Smith. The showing ends a streak of four consecutive No. 1 debuts for Linkin Park, dating back to "Meteora" in 2003. * Meanwhile, Linkin Park DJ Joe Hahn, who helms most of the group`s video, has been announced as the director of the feature film "Mall" for Paragon Pictures. Adapted from Eric Bogosian`s novel of the same name, the movie documents the wake of a random shooting at a suburban shopping mall and how it affects the lives of those who witnessed it. The film is due out this fall. Hahn has also directed videos for Statix-X, Xzibit, Story of the Year and the X-Ecutioners as well as Linkin Park. * The group's Mike Shinoda is again denying accusations that Linkin Park asked police during a recent radio festival in Tucson to stop Sublime With Rome from smoking pot in a nearby dressing room. Shinoda said in a new interview that none of Linkin Park's band members, who were doing a meet-and-greet at the time, complained about the smoking -- in fact, he pointed out that Linkin Park has previously toured with outspoken marijuana advocates such as Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg and Kottonmouth Kings. He did, however, say that he found Rome's "Linkin Narc" reference on Twitter to be "by far the funniest nickname ever with regard to our band." Linkin Park will play the MTV Fan Fest and Fandom Awards during this year's Comic Con on July 24 in San Diego before starting its Carnivores Tour with 30 Seconds to Mars on August 8 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
