Foo Fighters fans from Richmond, Virginia pulled off an impressive feat by convincing the band to play their town by starting an online campaign, and in a new interview, Dave Grohl says that stunts like these could help decide tours in the future. Speaking to South Africa’s 5FM, Grohl says that these types of campaigns “could become the way that bands decide where they want to play.” Grohl would go on to say that, “For the past 20 years, we always decided who we’re going to play with and where we’re going to play. But now, if we hear that people want us to come somewhere, maybe we’ll come there.” The entire interview is embedded below. If you have time, give it a listen, if only to hear how excited Grohl was to receive an office and desk so he can edit the new HBO series “Sonic Highways” that documents the recording of the Foos’ eighth album. (It’s around the 5:50 mark and is hilarious.)
