A week and a half of this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival is already in the books and features yet another stacked lineup that includes Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Asking Alexandria and plenty more.
However if you’re torn on whether or not you should buy a ticket to an upcoming stop, perhaps A7X’s Synyster Gates might persude you.
Gates spoke with Meltdown from Detroit’s 101 WRIF recently and he had this to say about the traveling festival:
“I think you can expect a show of shows. There’s too many cool bands on this roster! John Reese, who puts on this festival, spares no expense on having all the bells and whistles. [It’s]a lot of fun. And in turn, we reciprocate, and we leave no stone unturned. We spend all of the money and put on the biggest craziest show we can possibly put on. Fans definitely get their money’s worth.”
Gates also touched on how big rock shows have finally become “in” again and how important it is for A7X to leave it all on stage:
“Well, it became not cool to do with the grunge thing, and I think it kinda, sorta came back. But, I mean, with heavy metal music and hard rock music, there’s not been a lot of bands at this points that have gotten to a successful part in their life where they can actually afford to put on a bunch of stuff or a crazy show, and we’re very fortunate. You kinda miss it a little bit when you get home and you think you’re getting more pay deposit in your bank account, but you’re putting it into a show, and you know you’re not short-changing these kids. I really hope that more bands get to join that circle and bring all that stuff back.”
The next stop for the Mayhem Festival is Wednesday (July 16th) in St. Louis. The lineup changes throughout the tour, so for more details on daily lineups and set times, head over to RockstarMayhemFest.com.
