Scott Weiland is ready to rock with Velvet Revolver again.
The singer, fired from the band in 2008 and also ousted by Stone Temple Pilots in 2012, made the surprising declaration to Canada's La Presse, saying that, "Velvet Revolver, there is no problem. I even called the guys to propose the idea of doing some shows together in a few months. We are on good terms, but I do not want to be a member of Velvet Revolver full-time. If possible, I would like to only play at festivals, you know, to make easy money." Guitarist Slash recently told the Toronto Sun that, "I can see Scott coming back, but I can't see anybody accepting him," and drummer Matt Sorum told us earlier this year that the band has been actively looking for a replacement for Weiland. "We definitely have gone out on the path and searched around, tried to find the guy, and we've had some pretty good little bites and little leads," Sorum says. "We haven't put (the band) to bed. Me and Duff (McKagan) and Slash are still very good friends, and Dave Kushner. We're still very close. To get in the room with each other is not a problem. It's just finding that guy that's going to represent the band, vocally." Slash is currently on the road opening for Aerosmith and getting ready for the September 15 release of "World on Fire," his new album with singer Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Sorum released a new solo album, "Stratosphere," this year and has produced an album for former Runaways singer Cherie Currie that's awaiting release. Weiland and his band have dates book for late August and September in the U.S.
