Linkin Park's preparations for its upcoming Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI would seem to be keeping singer Chester Bennington plenty busy. But Bennington apparently found time recently to continue working with his other band, Stone Temple Pilots, which he joined last year in place of original frontman Scott Weiland. Bennington updated us on that group's status: "Well, we started writing some stuff a couple weeks ago, and that was a lot of fun. So, yeah, we're planning on recording some new music as soon as possible, and we've got a kick-start on a bunch of tracks...I don't know when we're gonna get in the studio. We want to do it as soon as possible, so we'll make that happen as, with the time that we have when I'm not on the road with Linkin Park." STP released its first recordings with Bennington, an EP called "High Rise," in October. The Carnivores Tour starts August 8 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and wraps up September 19 in Concord, Calif. Linkin Park heads back to Europe in November for a 16-date run that finishes November 24 in London.
