With a new album, "Space Invader," due next week and a covers album in the works next, former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley also has a second book in the works. Frehley tells us he's planning a sequel to his 2011 memoir "No Regrets;" in fact, he says,"I"ve already started writing it. It's just gonna be a continuation of 'No Regrets.' I mean, I have enough stories for five books, so it's just gonna be a fun book like the first book, more stories form me growing up in the Bronx, more KISS stories. I didn't touch too much on the Frehley's Comet years in the first book, so there'll be more about touring with Frehley's Comet and different groups I've had after I left KISS. It's gonna be a fun book.""No Regrets," of course, courted the ire of former bandmates Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, who have slammed the book -- as well as former drummer Peter Criss' "Makeup To Breakup: My Life In and Out of Kiss" -- over inaccuracies. Stanley tells us,"In the case of Peter or Ace, there is a reason that defense attorneys don't put alcoholics or drug addicts on the witness stand...The memories and recollections and accuracy of people who were in altered states during much of what they purport happened is subject to questioning, and the small bits that a few people have pointed out to me were absolutely outrageous to a point that I wondered if they actually believe it. I know in Ace's case he asked people what happened; that's hardly a memoir." Frehley's "Space Invader" is due out August 19, while the title track and his cover of the Steve Miller Band's "The Joker" are currently streaming online. He's planning a North American tour for this fall.
