GARY GRAFF is an award-winning music journalist based in Detroit who writes regularly for Billboard and Billboard.com, the New York Times Features Syndicates, Journal Register Newspapers, Revolver, Guitar Aficionado, Music Connection and other periodicals.

Gary has written or co-written books including:

  • “The Ties That Bind: Bruce Springsteen A to E to Z" on Bruce Springsteen
  • "Long May You Run: The Illustrated History” on Neil Young
  • "Travelin' Man: On the Road and Behind the Scenes with Bob Seger” on Bob Seger
  • "Rock 'n' Roll Myths: True Stories Behind the Most Infamous Legends"

Gary is the founding editor of the MusicHound Essential Album Guide series and edited several volumes of the "Popular Music" annual. He is a voter for the Grammy Awards and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, co-founder of the Detroit Music Awards Foundation and co-producer of the annual Detroit Music Awards, as well as an associate producer for a forthcoming documentary about Detroit's Cobo Arena.
