Chris Cornell and wife Vicky may have learned a new lesson: don’t ever mess with the help.
According to TMZ the Soundgarden frontman and his wife are being sued by their ex maid, Elia Mora, for alleged work law violations.
The couple hired Mora back in 2006 with no reported complaints from their housekeeper for nearly five years, but according to Mora, the working conditions were much too harsh.
The final straw allegedly came the day after Christmas last year, when Mora claims that she completed her duties at the Cornell house and left for home.
Except according to Mora, her work day didn’t end so peacefully.
The lawsuit obtained by TMZ reports, “Vicky needed Elia to return to do more work, but Elia declined. Elia claims that's when Vicky went nuts on her, berating her with a barrage of insults and then firing her.”
Additionally, Mora is accusing the Cornells of making her work 43 hours a week with no overtime pay, and also claims that she never got uninterrupted 30 minute lunches, and was not given 10 minute rest periods.
The couple’s lawyer says that the disgruntled maid is just “trying to make a splash in the media” and her claims are false.
Only time will tell if Mora can “beat the house” in the courtroom for a nice severance package.
