Black Sabbath Post More Teasers About New Album
By: Annie Scaramuzzino
11/16/2012

Black Sabbath provided fans with a few more teasers about their upcoming album on Thursday (November 15th).

In a Facebook post, the band stated that bassist Geezer Butler “is all set to record some more bass tracks on the new album today”, with a photo of Butler’s instruments.

That adds to the already completed guitar tracks from Tony Iommi, and the progress that Ozzy Osbourne’s made on the vocals.

The album, which is being produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, will feature all of the original Sabbath members sans drummer Bill Ward, who dropped out of the project and the tour after claiming he’d been offered an unsatisfactory contract.

Still, it’s been nearly 35 years since Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have entered the studio together, and the trio, plus Osbourne’s solo drummer Tommy Clufetos, have reportedly been very productive.

Metal Injection stated last month that 15 songs had already been written for the new record, and Butler hinted that about 12 of them are expected to make the final cut, with the additional three possibly being used as bonus tracks.

Additionally, the metal monsters recently announced that they would be releasing a nine-album box set called The Final Collection: 1970-1978 next month. The set will also include posters, a hard-cover book featuring the group’s tour programs from the 70s, and a 7” vinyl of “Evil Woman” with a B-side of “Wicked World”.

The Final Collection: 1970-1978  is set for release on December 12th, and Black Sabbath’s new album, which remains untitled, is due out in April 2013.
