Rob Zombie Sets April 26 Release for "Lords of Salem" Film
By: Gary Graff
12/10/2012

Rob Zombie fans can put April 26 on their calendar; that's when the shock rocker and film director will roll out his latest film, "The Lords of Salem," in North America.

Zombie premiered the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival this year, where Anchor Bay picked up distribution rights. "The Lords of Salem" will be preceded on March 12 by a book adaptation co-written by B.K. Evenson.

Zombie tells us the film -- in which his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, stars as a radio DJ who unearths a curse placed on the town 300 years prior by a coven of witches -- is not exactly a conventional horror flick:

“It's strange. I don't know if it's scary, necessarily. That's not even the way I look at it. It's a different type of movie 'cause it's a slow roads of a psychological...movie...It's not like, 'Oh, I'm jumping in my seat! I'm scared, ha ha!' You can see how it messes with them. It's just a slow torture...It's not a particularly violent movie or a bloody movie...It really goes places, and hopefully people will go along for the ride, go in with an open mind."

In addition to "The Lords of Salem," Zombie has recorded a new studio album he plans to release in 2013.
