New Hollywood Undead Album Debuts at No. 2 on Billboard 200
By: Gary Graff
1/17/2013

It was a good week for rock on the Billboard 200 chart, with two entries in the Top 10.

Hollywood Undead's new "Notes From the Underground" weighed in at No. 2 overall, a career high for the rap-rock group, moving 53,000 copies in its first week of release. Black Veil Brides, meanwhile, hit No. 7 with its new "Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones," which sold 42,000 first-week copies.

Hollywood Undead's Johnny 3 Tears tells us that the reception means a lot to the band, and he hopes fans recognize how different the group is from other rock acts:

"In all honestly, forming a normal band or a traditional band with an electric guitar, a singer, a bass -- that's a whole lot easier than writing Hollywood Undead songs because of the elements and everything that goes into it. They're much more detailed songs...It's a very difficult thing to do to write a Hollywood Undead song; I try and take it with a grain of salt, 'cause if you get hung up on that stuff or people who feel this way or that way can drive you crazy. I just try to pay attention to the people who understand it and care about it."

Hollywood Undead and Black Veil Brides are both in the midst of tours supporting their respective albums, and each plans to be on the road throughout 2013 and into 2014.
