To close out its album-trilogy countdown, Green Day will screen its documentary ¡Cuatro! at the upcoming Aspen X Games. Viewers will be immersed in the day-to-day life of the celebrated alternative rockers as they made and sequentially released the LPs ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre! last year.
Billie Joe Armstrong’s bizarre on-stage meltdown and subsequent stint in rehab last September fell before the trilogy’s first release, so whether that turbulent period of the band’s narrative will appear in the documentary has yet to be seen. The fiasco was serious enough to cancel the band’s scheduled tour dates through this upcoming March, but the three albums were released either on time, or moved up a month in the case of ¡Tre! Armstrong also reports that he is doing better and ready to go according to the band’s official website.
"I’m getting better every day," Armstrong said. "So now, without further ado, the show must go on."
A quick peek at the documentary’s trailer indicates that the spunky trio is still up to the same rockstar mischief with cutaways of Armstrong smashing yet another guitar and bassist Mike Dirnt inexplicably cowering in a cardboard box with some bubblewrap.
