2013 has been a good year for Dave Grohl so far. His directorial debut, Sound City, opened at Sundance to favorable reviews last month and he’s spent the last few weeks traveling around with his supergroup, the Sound City Players, performing at the film’s premieres across the country, and soon in the U.K.
Grohl is also set to appear on the latest effort from Queens of the Stone Age, laying down all of the album’s drum tracks, and even tried his hand at late-night television when he guest-hosted Chelsea Handler’s E! show, Chelsea Lately last week.
But for those thinking that Grohl will only be focusing on his own career this year, think again!
During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session that took place Friday (February 8th), Grohl stated that the Foo Fighters are in the process of writing a new record, despite their announcement of a break back in the fall.
Grohl also revealed in the Q&A that he will NOT be touring with QOTSA if they hit the road after the new album’s release and that a follow-up to Them Crooked Vultures’ Probot could happen in the future. Additionally, Grohl answered more personal questions, citing “Walk” as his favorite Foo song, fried chicken as his favorite food and Ian MacKaye as his musical hero.
