Over at the Van Halen News Desk, the mystery behind photos of Eddie Van Halen and rapper LL Cool J together in the studio, seen here and here, has been revealed.
The guitar legend will be featured on one of the tracks off LL Cool J’s new album Authentic, which comes out on April 30.
LL revealed the news at his latest show at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, TX. He also revealed that Eddie Van Halen will be featured on track 12 and that rapper Snoop Dogg as well as Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello will be featured on the album.
This isn’t the first time Van Halen has crossed genre boundaries! He contributed a guitar solo to Michael Jackson’s 1983 hit “Beat It” and his riff from “Jamie’s Cryin’” was featured on rapper Ton-Loc’s 1988 hit “Wild Thing.”
