We all know that Slash has always had an affinity towards snakes, but it looks like the guitarist is also partial to creatures of the sea.
The former GNR rocker recently partnered with Shark Friendly Marinas to create a Public Service Announcement with the mission of raising awareness about the slaughtering of sharks.
“Recent data shows that over 100 million sharks are being killed a year. That’s three sharks every second. That’s unsustainable and it’s not cool,” Slash explains in the video. “We need sharks to have a healthy ocean. Please get involved by ending the harvest. Don’t buy shark products, don’t fish for sharks and if you happen to catch one, catch and release. Let it go.”
Slash goes on to promote the cause’s website, which features the tagline “Reducing Worldwide Shark Mortality, one marina at a time,” and offfers several ways for others to get involved in the initiative.
